Cremer Wood, Inc. is a family-owned business started by Eddie and Ella Mae Cremer in 1946 after his discharge from the U.S. Navy. The logging business was incorporated in 1963. As other logging crews and wood procurement responsibilities were added, Eddie’s brother Al joined him.

Today the business is owned and operated by his eldest son Ernie, a fifth-generation logger, and his wife Sandra. Their daughters, Christy Brauman and Jennifer Pipkins, and their sons-in-law, Scott Brauman and Jason Pipkins, work with them to provide a variety of forestry and logging services.

Ernie Cremer was named the Florida Logger of the year in 1993 and the Southeastern Region outstanding Logger in 1994. In addition, two other loggers that contract with Cremer Wood, Inc. have been recognized as Florida/Georgia Logger of the year by the Florida and Georgia Forestry Associations.

With a seven-man forestry staff, Cremer Wood, Inc. is able to meet fully all of your land management, harvesting, site preparation and regeneration needs. Scott Brauman and Ted Cremer are graduate foresters with degrees in Forestry from the University of Florida. Other forestry personnel include Michael Barican and Mike Woodard. Jason Pipkins and Joe Mast handle the site preparation, tree planting, road work, and fire suppression responsibilities. The Cremer Wood, Inc. office is managed by Sandra and Christy with the assistance of Cindy Curtis and Pegi Grubbs.

Beyond the timber business, involvement in the community is of utmost importance to Ernie and his family. They are active members of Christ Independent Methodist Church in Palatka, where Ernie and Scott serve on the Board of Stewards. Ernie, Sandra and Jason teach Sunday School, and Jennifer, Christy and Scott are involved in other ministries in the Church. Ernie is on the Board of Directors at the Rodeheaver Boys Ranch, following in the footsteps of his father who served on the board for many years.

Cremer Wood, Inc. is a long-time supporter of forestry and logger associations and has worked with the Florida Division of Forestry to develop and improve Best Management Practice guidelines. The Cremer family actively participates in and supports local 4H and FFA programs.
